An Interview On the sets of  "Wajood". The film Mad-fans have been waiting for all year

Q  :  Tell us about the scene being filmed today.
A. :  This is a song sequence  It is essentially a stage play directed by Nana Patekar and enacted by college students.

Q  :  This song picturisation  seems very similar to Tezaab's ek do teen number. Comment .
A. :   I think any stage song of mine will always be compared to that song from Tezaab.  The performance in Tezaab was meant to be by a professional dancer who is giving a professional performance while in this film it is more like a stage play, a ballet rather than a song performance.

Q   :  What about the film?
A.  :  Wajood deals with what the society and especially what the youngsters in the society today are going through.  A kind of turmoil, a search for their true identity.  For example a diamond merchants son is supposed to follow in his father footsteps and embrace that profession himself or an actors son has to become an actor and so on.  Their traditional profession.  Our film deals with the kind of people who want to break
away from the traditional and do something different and in the process find their true identity.  We see that in life a lot of times people dont get to live their dreams due to social commitments, responsibilities, etc.  They may not have the money or the freedom to follow their dreams.  Our characters in Wajood are actually following their dreams.

Q  :  How's the film's music rated?

A. :  The music of the film has all the shades.  You have some slow numbers, some fast numbers and classical based songs as well.  So I would say that it is an amalgamati on of different varieties of music.

Q  :  The genre or category?
A. :  Even though this film is a love story, we have addressed a lot of social problems also which have been well woven into the film without it looking artificial or contrived.&n bsp; For example, I am playing a TV journalist with her own show and through my character we have addressed the problem of the harassment that women have to face in the workplace.  So in that sense it is a very socially aware film apart from being a love story.

Q  :  Did you need any sort of preparation to play the role?
A. :  As you know I am playing a TV journalist in the film. I have met a lot of people from that profession and have observed them and keeping in mind my character I have imbibed a lot of things from what I have seen.
